Annual Report 2023: A Year of Perseverance, Pivots, and Progress!

đź“š Annual Report 2023: A Year of Perseverance, Pivots, and Progress!

We are excited to share with you the highlights of the 2023 Annual Report! This year, Scholar Fund took on many new opportunities and endeavors with community and care at the center of it all. We accomplished many things this year, delivering over $40 million in cash assistance impacting thousands of community members. We also revamped Scholarship Junkies, relaunching the scholarship bank and hosting various workshops catered to high school and college students. We grew so much this year by strengthening our relationships, creating opportunities for people across many borders, and building resources that align with our values.

“2023 was a year of perseverance, pivots, and progress. This year, we connected community needs to opportunities and resources by delivering more than $40 million in cash, improving our fraud deterrence systems, and investing in our partnerships.” - David Coven Founder & Executive Director.

It’s no secret that Scholar Fund does a lot! So often when people ask what we do, we break it down like this:

Cash: Scholar Fund supports direct cash relief work in many ways— administering, assembling tech tools, building support teams, advocating for policy, and more. This year we helped over 18,000 people through, BSK Child Care, King County Immigrant Relief Fund, Victim Compensation Fund, and more.

College: Scholar Fund’s education access work started it all. From the beginning, we knew that removing barriers for students across the country would allow more people to thrive on their educational journey. This year Scholarship Junkies shared resources with over 5,000 students!

Community: Scholar Fund’s community development work recognizes the importance of a strong and deep root system. We support grassroots growth and climate care through our work like fiscal sponsorships, mutual aid support, cultural fellowships, policy advocacy, and more. In 2023 we took 75 DACA Recipients abroad through our Cultural Leadership Fellowship! We took Scholar Fund abroad and beyond our wildest dreams.
