[The Source]đź’° Aid for Eligible AmeriCorps Members

Eligible Youth Mental Health Corps members can apply for up to $1,000!
A collaborative effort between America’s Service Commissions (ASC), the Schultz Family Foundation, Pinterest, and Scholar Fund is providing essential financial support to eligible AmeriCorps members. This program provides direct cash assistance of up to $1,000 for eligible AmeriCorps members who are serving in the Youth Mental Health Corps Program. The fund is designed to assist with emergency financial needs occurring after March 1, 2025, that threaten a member’s ability to continue their 2024-25 service term. Eligibility requirements include:
Being between the ages of 18-29,
Being an active AmeriCorps member who has served a minimum of 100 hours,
Participating in the Youth Mental Health Program, and
Having a financial emergency that occurred on March 1, 2025, or after.
Eligible emergencies include family loss, housing, medical, transportation, and more.
We made it easy to apply. All you have to do is visit ymhcaid.org, create an account, and fill out the application. Applications will be reviewed and decided upon within one week of submission. Scholar Fund supports application assistance through text, calls, and emails.
Financial hardships can be unpredictable and we know funds like this can help AmeriCorps members over a short time and have a significant impact.
Awardee Highlights!
“I currently use my Americorp stipend to help my family with their bills. The bill cost has increased so significantly, it's hard for me and my family to survive off a stipend. Now that there is uncertainty about the City Year Program, I now need more help than ever. Thank you.”

“Due to school closures, I have gotten behind on my hours. I have created a plan to make up hours but to incorporate the plan, I need daycare for the weekend days I work and other days school is closed. With summer break quickly coming, I am also needing the childcare for those couple of weeks in order to complete my term successfully.”
