Scholar Fund is excited to announce the release of WHAT WE ARE FROM, a documentary by Erick Arredondo and Diego Estrada Bernuy that captures the reunions of immigrant leaders with their families. Mark your calendars for May 16, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Rainier Arts Center! In addition to the screening, there will be a reception with food included, and a panel of fellows who were a part of the Cultural Leadership Fellowship Fall cohorts.

WHAT WE ARE FROM follows four fellows as they return home for the first time, capturing everything from their first moments with the Cultural Leadership Fellowship cohort to emotional arrivals at family doorsteps. Let them take you on a journey of healing and reconnection—one that demands to be seen, now more than ever.

The Cultural Leadership Fellowship has guided 255 DACA recipients throughout the world to Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, South Korea, Brazil, Portugal, South Africa, and more. Experience the impact this opportunity has had on DACA recipients and their communities! You’re invited to Tax Credit Cafe at The Station Coffee Shop located at 1600 S Roberto Maestas Festival St, Seattle, WA, on April 25, 2025! From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Scholar Fund’s community support team will walk you through the entire Working Families Tax Credit application. You must have filed taxes for the year 2024 to be able to complete the application. 

The Working Families Tax Credit will provide payments up to $1,290 for tax year 2024 to individuals and families who meet the requirements. This tax credit is unique because it includes ITIN holders, opening up this application to thousands more taxpayers in Washington state. Individuals and families are eligible if they meet all the requirements. Free drip coffee for anyone who does the eligibility quiz!
